Urgent question about A2 visa and grand parents being jewish

Postby BennjaminSchultzer » Sun Jul 01, 2012 1:32 pm

Hi

I just been at the MoI after I got my confirmation that my grandfather on my father side is Jewish... And when I apply for the A2 visa for mahal, the lady at the disk said she was going to send it too jerusalem cus normal one of your parents have to be Jewish... My father is not Jewish only my grandfather... But how I understand it, it shouldn't be a problem since the law of returns see me as a Jew.... She told me that she will call me and there might will go a week...

It's pretty frustrating cus I don't know if
I get my visa or not????

Anyone been in that situation or know one there have??? Or just one there can clarify that it shouldn't be a problem at only my grandfather is Jewish???

Kind regards

Ben

Neyah! I had ZERO Jews in my family tree. I had to do an Orthodox conversion. Then I was eligible for the Law of Return.

Under Jewish law, you are not Jewish, just so you'll know. If you want to be Jewish you'll have to convert as well, and it is much harder these day.

Thank you for sharing your personal story, 2311203, but it does not hold any relevance to this young man or to the Mahal program.

Ben, you should indeed be eligible for the A2 visa and Mahal service as a Zakai Aliyah. I will send you a private email.
