Serving as a Nurse or Physician Assistant

Postby nps07 » Fri Jun 29, 2012 11:27 pm

Hey everyone,
I have a question directed for anyone that is a healthcare professional in the USA, primarily RN’s and PA’s. I want to go back to Israel and serve upon my graduation from RN school in 2 years. I was wondering if exceptions are made for people with technical healthcare degrees such as nurses and PA’s as they are made for physicians. I will be 25 years old upon graduation.

Also I was wondering if anyone could direct me to anyone/organization/program that can help me start that process of serving as a healthcare professional for the IDF.

The first question is whether you would be making aliyah.
Without making aliyah, there is no pursuit of this.

As to the military honoring a nursing degree the same as an MD, the answer is historically no.
The key heare being historically.

The ideal time to ask is when negotiating aliyah at an embassy.
