A few questions...

Postby Roman Stuart » Sun Aug 31, 2008 8:42 am

hello everyone!
I have some questions and hope to get some answers. thanks a lot.
first,
1- Are there any no-combat jobs in the IDF? any art-computer-related job to be more especific?

2- whats a tipical day of basic training like? i mean daily schedule.

3- when are we getting new enlistment dates? cause sadly I wont be able to enlist this year and Im really worried cause Im 22 and I cant waste any more time.
Thanks again, I will post more questions about my doubts later. Feel free to contact me via MSN, I would like to talk with anyone who can give me a good advice. take care

Welcome Roman,

There are non-combat jobs in the IDF, in fact many of them. The nature of the MAHAL program might preclude you from some of them. The first and biggest hurdle is the time constraint. How long does it take the army to train you to do a job the way they want it done, and then, how much time does that leave for you to be effective. In many cases, it also comes back to language. Can you effectively take graphic design instructions in hebrew?

Drivers, cooks, clerks, supply people are some of the options that come up that do not require a depth of hebrew knowledge, and there are many more.

2. There are many threads on basic training, rewriting them would take much more time than having you simply scroll down and look for them. Then we can answer any specific questions that might remain.

3. As with any official communications from the IDF, we generally get them posted within 24 hours of receiving them. No dates beyond those posted have been released. Bu I do agree with you that the clock is ticking for you.

don't join the army if u don't want to be combat, maybe they might give you a nice job in tel aviv or maybe they might put you on a base in the negev and make you a cook or a driver or something equally stupid, it's all luck. either join the amry to be combat or put your talents to use in an appropriate environment.
