vaccinations?

Postby LivingTruth » Mon Jul 12, 2010 10:39 pm

are vaccinations required for service? and, whether or not they are required, is it definitely a good idea to have them? i ask because my parents have declined to give me standard american vaccinations, which has worked out fine for me so far, but i wonder if this will be an issue when i am trying to enlist.

thank you

WIthin the medical forms that need to be filled out by your family physician is a section for the immunizations you have received.

A tetanus shot is almost certainly in your future. The army does, in fact, give you a number of immunizations on your first day in. I am not positive if they have a list of those immunizations that they consider minimal, but it would not be a great surprise.

You can find the form, a downloadable PDF, from our home page.

It has been many many years since I was a new recruit. I believe there are 2 or 3,
but i am not certain.

Obviously tetanus and the like.
