Hi guys! My name is Oren.
I'm coming from switzerland and have the israeli-swiss nationality.
I have a few questions :
- Will I be able to wear contact lens in combat units?
- Can I immediately begin the ULPAN lessons or I will have to wait a few weeks in Israel first?
- Can I register if I have only spent 1 week in israel since my 10th birth (during my bar mitsvah)?

Thank you very much
Shalom

Hi Oren, welcome to the forum!

If you have Israeli citizenship, you are not eligible for the Mahal program. However, you should still register through the main website for help in choosing a shorter-service program for overseas Israelis.

You cannot wear contact lenses in a combat unit.

You can start ulpan lessons outside the army whenever you like. However, the IDF ulpan begins only once you have begun your service. So you will not be able to arrive in Israel and start right away.
