Political discussions will not be permitted on the forum. References to current events or political situations are fair game when they are directly relevant to service in the IDF and particularly to service through Mahal, but discussions of those same political situations and current events will not be permitted. This forum is not a recreational one, but rather a place to help people learn about and prepare for service in the IDF through Mahal.
This site deals with matters inherently of a sensitive nature with regards to Israel's national security. Though only members may post to the site, anybody can read the content. To that end, members will not be permitted to post information that may reasonably be understood to compromise Israeli security, even if that information may be obtained elsewhere on the internet. As this is clearly a fine line and impossible to define in a concrete manner, the following rule of thumb should be of help: if you're not sure, don't post it.
Before posting a question, read the Mahal FAQ very carefully to see if your question is already addressed. If it is not, use the forum's search feature to see if the question has been asked before on this forum. If you've looked on other sources online and checked the FAQ and forum archives and still do not have an answer to your question, then post the question in the appropriate forum.
Finally, all users are required to post an introductory post in the Introductions forum before posting a question or comment anywhere else. This post should contain a brief personal background, reason for joining the site, and what the user wishes to gain from membership to the site. More information is welcome though not necessary. Posting this information will make it easier for the IDF veterans who frequent the site to answer your questions.
